Being diagnosed with diabetes isn’t an easy thing to take on. There is a lot of challenging lifestyle changes to make. However, diabetic recovery is possible, if you are willing to be persistent and handle yourself with care.

The road to diabetic reversal is not an easy path to tread. Yet, by following some simple guidelines diabetic recovery is within reach. The first, and most important, factor is keeping a healthy diet. Eat meals around the same time every day to keep your blood sugar levels steady. Three meals should be eaten per day and each should include plenty of fiber, and very few ‘empty’ calories.

The second most important factor in diabetic recoveryis exercising daily and staying as active as possible. Exercise helps the body produce insulin and use energy more effectively. This will also reduce weigh, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure. Finally, exercise helps you to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, each of which can make your diabetes worse.

Diabetic Coma Recovery

Is a coma like a deep sleep? Some stages of a coma do resemble this, but not all. The patient’s progress is measure by their awareness of external stimuli. If you lapse into a diabetic coma, you cannot awaken or respond to sights, sounds, or other types of stimulation. For a person to be considered ‘recovered’ reactivity and perceptivity must both be present.

A diabetic coma may happen whether blood sugar levels are too low or too high. It often occurs when the body’s blood sugar elevates and the cells within your body become dehydrated. A diabetic becoming overly thirsty and urinating more is often a sign that a diabetic coma is about to occur. If you feel extreme high or low blood pressure symptoms, and you think you might pass out, it is time to call 911. The same should be done if you are with a diabetic person and they pass out.

Diabetic coma treatment will depend on whether your blood sugar is too low or too high. If it is too high, intravenous fluids to restore the water in you tissues will be given, insulin to help your tissues absorb the excess glucose, and treatment for any underlying infections. Sometimes potassium, sodium, and phosphate supplements are given to help your cells to function right in diabetic recovery.

In cases where the blood sugar level is too low, a glucagon injection will be given to raise the body’s blood sugar levels. Consciousness normally returns after blood sugar reaches a normal level. If treatment is not prompt, permanent brain damage or death could result.
