In reality there is no organization named American Association of Diabetes. This is mix between the names of two different organizations: The American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the American Association of Diabetes Educators. Both have also been mistakenly referred to as the American association for diabetes.

ADA, or the American Diabetes Association is a non-profit organization whose mission it is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. They fund research for diabetes, deliver services to hundreds of communities, and provide information on diabetes. They also voice rights for diabetics if rights have been denied.

The American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) is a little different. It is a multidisciplinary association of healthcare professionals that is dedicated to integrating self-management as a key outcome in the care of people with diabetes and related chronic conditions. AADE advocates for policies that improve access to self-management education, sets the scope and direction for self-management education, and offers opportunities and resource to advance skills and career goals.

You can find out more about the ADA at Diabetes.org. The website provides basic and professional information about the disease. They also provide advice on managing the disease and treatment advice. The site provides the latest in diabetes news and research developments. Finally, the website gives contact information for community resource center or general help.

American Diabetes Association Guidelines

The American Diabetes Association provides guidelines for the clinical care and treatment of diabetic patients. They also provide guidelines to help patients in their own self-management. Guidelines can also be found for schools, correctional institutions, and employment.

American Diabetes Association Annual Meeting

In June, the 72nd American Diabetes Association annual meeting, called Scientific Sessions, will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is a meeting for anyone involved in diabetic research, care, or services which provides cutting-edge information and gives colleagues a chance to work together. The American Association of Diabetes Educators also has an annual meeting which is completely focused on diabetes education.

American Association of Diabetes Educators

The Diabeteseducator.org website allows patience to research resources and information. They also provide accredited diabetes education programs and diabetes educators in your area. Physicians may also find resources here as well.

This website belongs to the American Association of Diabetes Educators. It is a multidisciplinary association of healthcare professionals which are “dedicated to integrating self-management as a key outcome in the care of people with diabetes and related chronic conditions”. In other words, these are health professionals who work together in order to promote healthy living so that people with diabetes and other chronic conditions can find “optimal health and wellness”.
