There is strong evidence that therapy for diabetes using a team approach is effective in reaching major goals in diabetes therapy, according to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Journal.diabetes.org also states that people with diabetes should receive treatment from a physician-coordinated team. The teams should include physicians, nurses, dietitians and mental health professionals. Optometrists, podiatrists, physiotherapists, nurse practitioners, and certified diabetes educations are other examples of professionals which may be on a team that provides therapy for diabetes.
